Go Genevieve!

I've been listening to Genevieve Tudor's Sunday Folk, and I'm still smitten!


She takes promo cds from unknowns and just shoves them on! There should be more of these kind of shows for folk musicians - there is a lot of talent out there that is too shy to come to the traditional sessions at 'Old Man's Pubs'. Circumvention feeds invention?


Also Genevieve rather bravely said it's folk if she likes it - good for her! She puts on a lot of 'experimental' singer songwriter stuff that could be said to be written in the folk idiom, and mixes that up with other trad stuff. I think this approach will win her some loyal listeners, since her show is anything but stale!


I may even try and send her in something I've written myself. If I ever finally record it.....
